Wright, Richmond's defensive leader and two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Year, ended her final season with 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers as she locked in on opponents' offensive leaders. She held Stanford's Ashley Humphrey to a season-low two assists to help the Spiders upset the #16 Cardinal at Robins Stadium. Humphrey would go on to lead the NCAA in assists per game with 4.63. Wright also held Saint Joseph's Lauren Figura to three points (2 goals, 1 assist) on six shots. Figura led the A-10 in goals per game (3.43), points per game (4.14) and shots per game (6.71).
The Moorestown, N.J. native led Richmond to a 14-4 record and the 13th nationally-ranked scoring defense.
Helping the Spiders on both sides of the field in 2022, DiCenso was named the Atlantic 10's Midfielder of the year, the first for a Spider since 2012. The Foxboro, Mass. product started every game at midfield and was a staple within the Richmond transition/fast break game. She contributed heavily on both ends of the field, ranking third on team in goals, fourth in points and leads the team in ground balls (29) and caused turnovers (14).
Equally as dangerous on offense as she is on defense, DiCenso was a key part of Richmond's No. 1 A-10 ranking in assists, No. 2 ranking in points per game and No. 4 national ranking in assists per game.
The junior had a standout season that saw her tie or set new single-game career highs in five different stat areas including goals (4 vs. Saint Joseph's), assists (2 vs. George Mason), points (5, 2x, vs. Saint Joseph's and George Mason), shots (8 vs. George Washington) and ground balls (6 vs. James Madison).
Richmond's goals leader, Frank, led the offense with 47 goals and ranked No. 1 in goals per game and No. 1 in points per game in conference play. Overall, Frank was No. 2 in goals and No. 4 in points per game (4) in the conference. She led Richmond's attackers in ground balls (17), caused turnovers (7) and free position shots (20). She was been a key part of Richmond's No. 4 national ranking in assists with 21 and has also picked up the same number in draw controls to help Richmond to a No. 1 ranking in the conference in draw control percentage.
Between the pipes, Galvin started all 18 games in the cage for the Spiders, racking up 169 saves and a goals against average of 9.90. The Smithtown, NY native ended the year ranked fifth in the NCAA in saves percentage (.508) and 13th in total saves.
Her goalkeeping helped earn the Spiders the No. 13 scoring defense in the country (9.50 GAA) and No. 9 ranking in saves percentage (.501). Her GAA and save percentage both ranked second in the A-10 and her save percentage ranks seventh all-time for Spiders in a single season. Galvin ended her career as the NCAA's active career leader in saves 724.
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in Virginia.
