ExplorationWorks goes virtual with new Sound Science lab - KTVH

Exploration Works in Helena hosted their new Sound Science exhibit on Facebook Live.

This is in response to the coronavirus closing many places across the state.

The new Sound Science exhibit is a musical, educational session to explain different topics within music. In the first session, the instructors described the difference between classical music and jazz music and techniques to soloing. Exploration Works says about 175 people viewed the first live session.

They felt they still needed to present their music to the community despite the closures.

“We had talked about it a little bit and I had this idea formulating of what I could represent, somehow represent, of what I could show to the community and kids that are home not having much to do or looking for something to watch and keeping them occupied. There's only so much you can watch on Netflix or Disney Plus, something like that, and it’s just something different,” says Cole Bass, a band teacher.

If all goes well, Exploration Works says they will continue its Facebook Live Sound Science exhibit every Sunday.
