Say something positive
I’m a little disappointed with the newspaper to place the Mother’s Day editorial by the very negative public comments. Instead of putting in your constant complaints, find a way to say something positive. We should honor our country by working together to make things better. I guess you (complainers) have a lot of time to find fault. If people used common sense and realized you have to do the right thing and not go backwards we’d be better off.

‘Not the boss of me’
Guys like Rep. Howell and Sen. Daley are saying our Democratic governor is “not the boss of me” like little children, but they’re not the governor who has the lives and well-being of millions of people as her responsibility. Hey boys, oops your partisan stripes are showing.

‘Ruined our economy’
Gretchen, what kind of name is that? She has single-handedly ruined our economy. There are hardly any cases (coronavirus) in Lapeer County so we should be able to open our businesses while there’s a chance to avoid bankruptcy.

So d*** tired of it all!
If the majority of deaths (from coronavirus) occurred at one nursing home in Lapeer that tells us it’s not widespread in the county and things should be opened up so we can stop wearing the stupid masks. I’m so d*** tired of it all. Let’s get back to business.

Must never forget
I’m glad there will be some kind of Memorial Day program in Lapeer. We can’t let their sacrifices go without remembrance.

Kudos to North Branch Schools
It’s outstanding what North Branch Schools have done during these extraordinary times. We’re very pleased with the curriculum and process they’ve outlined. Keep up the good work.

‘Thanks’ to healthcare workers
We would like to thank all the healthcare workers who’ve done so much during this (coronavirus) crisis. We can never thank you enough. God bless.
