Police in Aurora are investigating four homicides in less than a 48-hour span: a victim found at an apartment complex, a double shooting at a pawn shop, and a stabbing at a homeless camp.
And there were two other shootings where the victims survived.
A 33-year-old man, Carlis Brandon Lesean Brabson, suffering from a gunshot wound was found at about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at Sable Cove Condominiums, 912 S. Dearborn Way, according to the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office and police. Brabson died a short time after police found him. The coroner’s office identified him on Thursday. Brabson died of a gunshot wound to the head. His death is being investigated as a homicide and police are looking for a suspect.
On Wednesday, two men died in a shootout at EZ Pawn, 797 Peoria St., police said. The men were identified Thursday by the coroner’s office as 26-year-old Ricardo Herrera, and 28-year-old Keith Lamonte Smith Jr.; both died of gunshot wounds and both deaths are homicides. An employee, at about 4:40 p.m., called police for help. Investigators said the men shot each other.

Stephen Minks-MorganOn Thursday police announced that Stephen Minks-Morgan, 26, has been arrested for investigation of first-degree murder. He is suspected of a stabbing death at a “transient campground” on Wednesday evening near South Parker Road and South Peoria Street. The 33-year-old victim has not yet been identified.
About 7:45 p.m. Wednesday a dispute on an RTD bus led to a shooting. Both the shooter and the man shot fled the bus. The victim made his own way to a hospital where he was treated for a gunshot to the arm, according to police. The shooting happened on bus number 6191 near the intersection of East Mississippi Avenue and South Troy Street. The man shot declined to answer police questions about the incident.
Just before 11 p.m. Wednesday Aurora police responded to “multiple calls of shots fired” at the intersection of East 7th Avenue and Laredo Street near Apache Mesa Park. When officers arrived they found a 23-year-old victim.

On Thursday police said the victim remained in the hospital and is expected to survive. Police continue to develop suspect information in the case.
Interim Aurora Police Chief Vanessa Wilson described the violence as “extremely concerning.”
“Our investigators have been tirelessly working to bring justice and resolution to a number of those cases,” Wilson said in a written statement. “We need our community’s assistance to ensure that the ones involved are held responsible for their actions.”
