Campbell County Public Health (CCPH) was notified of four new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases, per a release from the agency late Saturday evening, bringing the county’s cumulative lab-confirmed county to 31, per CCPH.

The new cases include a female child under 10, two adult females in their 40s and 50s, respectively, and an adult male in his 70s, per the release.

All four cases are community-acquired, meaning there is no known patient to which the four have been exposed, and all four are currently being quarantined in their homes with contact tracing ongoing. Per the release, CCPH is monitoring 44 potential contacts.

As of Sunday morning, the new cases raise Campbell County’s total lab-confirmed case count to 31, of which 13 are currently active, per CCPH. According to the same data, 645 people have been tested in the county as of this same date.

Only two of the lab-confirmed patients in Campbell County have been hospitalized, per CCPH. Of the positive patients, there are 27 reported recoveries, including 18 lab-confirmed and nine probable cases.

Across Wyoming, 40 new cases have been reported since Friday, per WDH, with more than 30,000 residents tested in both the state and private labs.

CCPH is urging those who do not feel well to stay home when they’re sick, said CCPH Public Information Coordinator Ivy Castleberry, even if they only have mild symptoms to help prevent the spread of the illness to those who have additional risk factors and compromised immune systems. Eighty percent of patients with COVID-19 will have mild symptoms that can be managed at home, she noted.

County 17 will be publishing a story this week on CCPH’s continued efforts to  conduct contact tracing and how the process works.
