TAMPA — Four members of the Yankees organization tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple reports Saturday.
New York had two support staff personnel at Steinbrenner Field, located on the corner of Dale Mabry Highway and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, test positive for COVID-19, the New York Daily News said. And the club had two more staffers test positive at the nearby minor-league complex on Himes Avenue, the New York Post said.
No one was identified, and it’s not clear when they were tested. At least three of them are not players, the Daily News said.
More employees were tested Friday, so the numbers could grow.
The Yankees had two minor-league players and a clubhouse worker test positive in March, forcing all minor-leaguers and workers at the complex to self-quarantine for two weeks after Major League Baseball shut down the sport on March 12.
