Opposition noted of ‘happy green stuff’ 

Here we go, all the anti-marijuana people have started an obvious letter writing campaign to say Lapeer is going to waste because of the happy green stuff they’re so afraid of. Get over yourselves people, and accept that it’s state law and a permitted business just like party stores, gas stations and hair salons.

There goes the neighborhood 

One marijuana store is too many in Lapeer, let alone six. And now it appears some Lapeer officials are ready to allow recreational pot to be sold to anyone at those places too. As the saying goes, there goes the neighborhood.

Lapeer won’t be the same 

Lapeer won’t be the same place in five or 10 years. It will be pot central to the Thumb and mid-Michigan and it will look like a ghetto with even more marijuana stores and grow operations. Look at Imlay City Road right now, it’s already in rough shape and it will only get worse.

‘Thanks’ to road commission

The Lapeer County Road Commission did a wonderful job to remove a tree that fell across the road we live on. They were out here in no time and cleaned it up pretty good. Thank you for your great public service.

Touched by birthday drive-by

On Monday more than 30 people drove by my mother’s house to wish her a happy 80th birthday. You made an old woman very happy. Her health is failing and she’s been having a hard time, so the love of the community was exactly what she needed to lift her spirits. You people are awesome who took time to come out for my mother.

‘An absolute insult’

The coronavirus is real, no matter what the idiot President says. Our family lost a loved one to the virus and it’s an absolute insult to hear Trump or other doubters dismiss the virus as a made-up Democratic issue to embarrass Trump. He does that every time he opens his mouth, he didn’t need anyone else’s help.
