Four die on Minnesota highways in two days - TwinCities.com-Pioneer Press

Thursday and Friday were deadly on Minnesota highways. The state patrol reported four deaths, including one in Anoka County.

George Michael McNeill, 70, of Ramsey died Thursday when the 1998 Ford Explorer he was driving lost control, rolled through an intersection and crashed, partially ejecting him from the vehicle.

Police were called to the incident at Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Highway 10 in Anoka County about 8:15 a.m.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital where he died. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol.

Keith Allan Perrault, 60, of Eveleth, died Thursday when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving, rolled and was ejected.

Police were called to the scene near the intersection of U.S. Highway 53 and County Road 16 in St. Louis County about 8 p.m.

He died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, the State Patrol said.

Carly Ann Sweet, 21, of Byron, died Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Eagle Lake in Blue Earth County.

Bobby Shannon Oxford, 49, of Blue Earth, was driving a Dodge Ram east on Highway 14 when he collided with a 2004 Mazda driven by Sweet who was crossing the road from northbound County Road 56.

Police were called to the scene about 3 p.m. Oxford was uninjured. Sweet was pronounced dead at the scene.

Abdi Mohamud Jama, 69, died Friday when he entered a construction zone, fishtailed and collided with a Freightliner tractor in Scott Township in Stevens County about 4:30 p.m, according to the State Patrol.

Jama was driving a 2004 Nissan Murano east on a closed portion of Highway 28 near 580th Avenue when the crash occurred.

A passenger in the Murano, Kamil Mohamud Jama, 21, had life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

The State Patrol did not report their places of residences.

The driver of the tractor was not injured. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the Murano were wearing seat belts, the State Patrol said.
