Disappointed by pot rush
The “sky isn’t falling” is a tired response from the marijuana business owners to defend their desire to sell pot to everyone out of their shops in Lapeer. They don’t live here, we do and it sucks what’s happened to this town during the pot rush.

‘Used to be a nice town’
Lapeer will not be the same place when pot will be readily available at the stores. I’m very angry that three people on the commission ruined it for everyone. This used to be a nice town, but they’ve gone and given it away to out-of-town marijuana businesspeople that don’t give a damn about Lapeer.

World won’t end!
It won’t be the end of the world to sell marijuana in Lapeer (adult-use). The businesses aren’t going to lose their license and do anything stupid to jeopardize what they worked so hard to get.

Officials ‘did their job’
The City Commission finally did their job, to represent the people who voted to legalize recreational marijuana. Good job. That’s how government is supposed to work.

Don’t be cruel
It’s very cruel to do stories about businesses that burned down, especially about a man in his 70s who lost everything. Find something better to write about than tragedy.

Time for a change
Isn’t it funny how Joe Suma (Lapeer County Drain Commissioner) can move lines on the map and all of us owe more taxes. I think it’s time for him to go.

End the nonsense
The government has to stop COVID-600 so we can call people back to work. It’s time to end this nonsense of paying people more to be unemployed than when they worked.
