Two guns were seized and four men arrested in two Atlantic City car stops Sunday, police said.
Kenshabba Brookens was stopped at 2:11 a.m. by Officer Ivaylo Ivanov in the 200 block of North Tennessee Avenue, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Brookens, 26, of Atlantic City, was arrested after the officer found a loaded handgun and marijuana inside his vehicle, according to the report.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and is jailed.
Just before 1 p.m., Officers Corey Treadway and Matthew Talavera stopped a car in the first block of North Michigan Avenue, Fair said.
The three 20-year-old Maryland men inside were arrested after a handgun and 50 grams of marijuana were found inside. The gun had no serial number or any identifying mark by a federal firearms manufacturer, Fair said.
The driver, Jonathan Garcia of Baltimore, was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, on drug and gun charges.
Justin Brooks, of Baltimore, and Justin McDonald, of Middle River, Md., were released on summonses for drug possession.
On August 9, 2020, two motor vehicle stops resulted in the recovery of two handguns and the arrest of four men.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (847411), beginning the text with ACPD.
Note: The Atlantic County Justice Facility no longer provides mugshots to the media, citing the Atlantic County prosecutor’s order. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says it’s part of the Attorney General’s Guidelines. There is no such guideline, according to the Attorney General’s Office, but they have told these offices for years that they should not release any photos that appear to be mugshots.
