Your SOUND choice for produce + restaurant favorites + more, delivered right to your door! - The Daily Herald

Normally, Sound Sustainable Farms grows organic produce in Redmond to supply local, iconic restaurants around the Puget Sound region. But 2020 hasn’t been a normal year.

As restaurants grappled with new challenges and grocery stores struggled with supply chains, demand increased for home delivery.

The solution? Sound Bites, an à la carte delivery service for fresh organic produce, frozen proteins and restaurant favorites, all at great prices.

“It’s local businesses supporting local businesses, and also a way for us to support residents of Snohomish, King and Pierce Counties who deserve quality ingredients delivered right to their door,” says Karen Dawson with Sound Bites.

In addition to local, organic produce, Sound Bites features specialty items from Duke’s Seafood, El Gaucho, Ivar’s, Macrina Bakery and Caffè Appassionato.

John Moscrip with Duke’s Seafood, one of Sound Bites’ partner restaurants, was already looking for a local delivery partner to get their meals into the mouths of customers, so when Sound Bites reached out it was a perfect fit.

“The lightbulb went off in both our heads at the same time,” he says. “I knew how much effort it would take to do it, and do it right, but Sound Bites was amazing. Within a week we were up and running.”

You click, we pick!

Unlike weekly farm boxes, at Sound Bites you choose the type and quantity of produce to suit your tastes. It’s all grown in rich Cedar Grove compost and picked fresh on the morning it’s delivered. And produce isn’t the only thing on the menu. Order restaurant seasonings, proteins, baked goods, coffee, frozen meals and more to get a head start on the week’s meal plan.

“Duke’s signature meal is our award-winning clam chowder, which comes in a vacuum-sealed container to heat up at home for the exact same restaurant flavor. It’s great paired with a loaf of sourdough from The Essential Bakery,” Moscrip says. Every week Duke’s offers new products on Sound Bites, but the chowder, frozen grass-fed beef patties and Copper River Coho salmon have been mainstays for summer grilling. “I think our quality sourced salmon has been really helpful for people who don’t have a seafood source or are intimidated about preparing it.”

Preparation instructions are included with each order.

Sound Bites offers delivery throughout Snohomish, King and Pierce counties, and there’s no extra fee if you live in a rural area. Customers can also order their favorite Cedar Grove soils through Sound Bites for growing veggies at home or beautifying their garden.
