SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Former University of Colorado women's golfer Robyn Choi recorded a second-place finish at the Four Winds Invitational, part of the Symetra Tour, carding a 206.

Choi's three-day 10-under scorecard of 69-70-69 put her just one stroke behind the winner, Kim Kaufman, who won the event with an 11-under 205 (67-69-69) at Blackthorn Golf Club, a 6,475-yard par 72 course, in South Bend, Ind. Sept. 4-6.

The Australia native, started the final day three strokes behind Kaufman, but didn't feel nervous.

"I was in a position where I had to catch up," she said. "I think the focus was more in trying to catch them which is so different than being chased. If I'm being chased, I feel like I'll be really nervous, but I try to just keep calm as much as possible."

During the course of the tournament, Choi hit 32 of 42 fairways and made 3/3 sand saves. She also recorded six birdies in the first and third rounds.

Her third round started excellently. She made par on the first hole and then sank birdies on No. 2, 3 and 5, with another par on No. 4. Choi closed out the front nine by making another four straight pars, which put her at -8 for the tournament.

The back nine started with another par before she carded three consecutive birdies to put her at 11-under with five holes left to play. She made par on the next three holes before recording her only bogey of the day on No. 17, bringing her back to 10-under. She finished the round and the tournament with a par on No. 18.

Her performance put her two-strokes in front of the third-place finisher Bailey Tardy (208). Choi's finish earned her a $13,978 payday.
