The music industry was hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic with the shut down of live events.
One local business, Loaded Sound, is hosting their own event with safety precautions and say it's time to slowly come back.
"The way live events look, it's going to be different but I think people want them to come back. Spring through Fall is our busiest season, it's beautiful weather and people are doing events, weddings, festivals and things like that and they just stopped in March," said I.V. Williams, owner of Loaded Sound.
It's a sudden halt that has lasted more than six months .
"We are feeling the pressure starting in the fall and we are excited that things could open back up," said Williams.
Owner of Loaded Sound, I.V. Williams, was motivated to organize a local event with a safety measures. Her hope is to show the community that live events can begin happening once again.
"We are hoping that by having an event and if people can see that it is done in a safe manner, that people will be more comfortable to come out and socialize."
The event, "Back to the Music" will require people to social distance and wear a mask. Local bands, vendors, food drink and more will be a part of the big day.
It's taking place on Saturday, October 10th from 3p.m. to midnight at the McGregor Exchange.
The entrance fee is a $5 donation. The event is raising money for those impacted by Hurricane Laura. They will not serve alcohol but you are welcome to take your own beer. Cooler rentals will be available.
The event will be covered via this YouTube link.
