Alabama Men's Tennis Starts Four-In-The-Fall Tournament Strong with 12 Wins - rolltide.com

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team got off to a strong start on day one of the Four-In-The-Fall tournament being held in Tuscaloosa this weekend, winning all five of its doubles and seven singles matches. In addition to the Crimson Tide, the tournament features players from LSU and Vanderbilt in both singles and doubles competition. 

The doubles tandems of Patrick Kaukovalta and Riccardo Roberto, Sam Fischer and Alexey Nesterov, Gabriel Diaz Freire and Zhe Zhou, Jeremy Gschwendtner and Avi Shugar and Vincent Rettke and Marcelo Sepulveda Garza all opened the tournament with wins.

Kaukovalta, Zhou, Roberto, Rettke, Gschwendtner, Sepulveda Garza and Nesterov also scored singles wins on day one, with Kaukovalta, Zhou, Rettke , Gschwendtner, Sepulveda Garza and Nesterov taking their victories in straight sets.

  • Due to health and safety considerations in addition to the current guidelines, attendance at Alabama tennis home competitions is limited to guests of student-athletes and each team's coaching staff if the matches are played outdoors
