Gov. Jared Polis extends four pandemic-related executive orders - The Denver Post

suaralifestyle.blogspot.com

Gov. Jared Polis extended four executive orders Saturday, including one that provides a one-time state payment to workers who have collected unemployment benefits because of the pandemic.

On Oct. 28, Polis announced a one-time $375 payment to state residents earning under $52,000 who had filed for unemployment benefits at least once between March 15 and Oct. 24. Claimants had to have been eligible to receive between $25 to $500 in weekly benefits.

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment estimates there are 430,000 eligible claimants and 49,000 who are not eligible. The payments were set to land in bank accounts by Dec. 1, but the extension allows for more time to distribute the funds if that doesn’t happen. Recipients do not need to apply or otherwise request the funds.

Extensions were also granted on the state’s initial disaster declaration, on an order tied to election-related work within the Secretary of State’s office, and on the COVID-19 Dial Framework. That last order includes an amendment which adds the Level Purple to the original dial.
