FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office presented evidence to the county’s grand jury Monday in regards to a July 2020 shooting that left one person dead.
Two men were shot in a home on Salthouse Branch Road on July 14, 2020. 20-year-old Justin Prillaman was found dead, while his 18-year-old brother was sent to a hospital.
Six people were arrested over the following months:
- 19-year-old Te’Sean Market Brooks, of Hardy.
- 20-year-old Qu’Shawn Tyler Manns, of Rocky Mount.
- 20-year-old Treavon Rachel Taylor, of Hardy.
- 22-year-old Austin Kerry Lane, of Concord, North Carolina.
- 21-year-old Sean Gabriel Schwallenberg, of Hot Springs.
- 22-year-old Leon Douglas Mitchell, Jr., of Rocky Mount.
Indictments were issued Monday for four of the above named:
Manns is charged with one count of non-capital first degree murder, one count malicious wounding, one count conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts robbery of residence with a gun, two counts conspiracy to commit robbery, one count statutory burglary of dwelling, one count larceny of firearm and five counts of firearm use in commission of a felony.
Brooks is charged with one count of non-capital first degree murder, one count malicious wounding, two counts robbery of residence with a gun, one count larceny of firearm, one count statutory burglary of dwelling, one count conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts conspiracy to commit robbery and five counts of firearm use in commission of a felony.
Schwallenberg is charged with one count non-capital first degree murder, one count malicious wounding, one count conspiracy to commit burglary, one count robbery of residence with a gun, one count statutory burglary of dwelling, one count larceny of firearm, two counts conspiracy to commit robbery and four counts of firearm use in commission of a felony.
Michell is charged with one count non-capital first-degree murder, one count malicious wounding, one count robbery of residence with a gun, one count larceny of firearm, one count statutory burglary of dwelling, one count conspiracy to commit burglary, two counts conspiracy to commit robbery and four counts of firearm use in commission of a felony.
