Improve visibility at road intersections

Not only does the Wilder and Peppermill intersection have an obstructed view, but Morris and the southwest corner of Higley Road also do. The scrub and trash trees at the corner have to be removed. It’s hard to see around them if you’re going east on Higley.

Thank you.

‘Hard to see oncoming traffic on Wilder Road’

I feel so bad for the family of the 23-year-old who was killed (April 13) on Wilder Road (at Peppermill). If you’re eastbound on Peppermill it’s extremely hard to see oncoming traffic on Wilder Road because of the trees. Remove them before someone else loses a child there.

Reduce M-24 speed limit

So many bad crashes. People need to slow down, and the roads need to be made safer. They should reduce the speed limit on M-24 at Brocker to 45 mph. It would be a start to make that area safer.

Put down cell phones!

If people didn’t feel compelled to be on their phones all the time when they’re driving I’m sure there would be fewer crashes and deaths in Lapeer County. Put down the phones and just drive.

‘Get your shots for goodness’ sake’

COVID is real. Get your shots and be safe for yourself, your family and those who would miss you if you’re gone because you refused to wear a face mask. It’s easy and it’s what has to be done. Get your shots, and wear a face mask for goodness’ sake.

No excuse to not get vaccinated

My husband and I have been fully vaccinated for three weeks. It’s a wonderful feeling. It was fast and easy. There’s no excuse to not get one (vaccination) at the health department.

Disappointed in the human species

Why do people litter? It’s one of my greatest pet peeves and disappointments in the human species. Earth Day was Thursday. If people didn’t litter, they recycled their water bottles and cared just a little about the environment we would have a healthier planet.

Good riddance!

I can’t wait until the E.T. White building is gone. It has been such an eyesore for so many years. Hopefully we’ll get some new cool business and more jobs.

Hopeful for Lapeer Days

I hope they have a Lapeer Days this year. Even if it’s smaller, we need to have something to look forward to. COVID-19 has robbed us of all normalcy, and it’s really getting old.

Tell us what you think

U.S. borders with Canada, as well as with Mexico, will remain closed to non-essential travel for another month, federal officials said this week. Governments of the three countries on March 2020 restricted non-essential travel across their land borders to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the restriction has been extended several times, with the most recent set to expire Wednesday. Have the COVID-19 border-crossing restrictions affected your business or recreation travel?
