The Rochester FC defense and the play of goalie Eric Feil was on point Saturday night as the team took on Minneapolis FC in men’s United Premier Soccer League action at Rochester Regional Stadium.
The trouble for Rochester FC was, it couldn’t connect on the other end. The result was a 1-0 loss, as Minneapolis FC scored in the 93rd minute to walk away a winner.
“We had some good opportunities and (Feil) made a few saves,” said player/part owner Midhat Mujic. “We just have to get better with our chemistry and consistency. Our defense has been solid. But we have to work on the (offensive) finishing aspect of the game.”
Feil was excellent in goal for Rochester FC, including stopping one penalty kick.
Rochester FC, which slipped to 0-2, is not nearly yet at full strength. It is still missing about eight college players who’ve yet to finish up their spring semesters.
Rochester FC plays again next Saturday (6 p.m.), at the Minnesota Brooklyn Knights FC.
