NORMAN, Okla. -- A quartet of Illinois men's golfers were honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday (May 29) when Adrien Dumont de Chassart, Michael Feagles, Jerry Ji, and Giovanni Tadiotto were selected to the 2021 Division I PING All-Midwest Region team. The announcement was made just after the team teed off in Round 2 of the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The honor is the fifth all-region selection for Feagles, a fifth-year senior from Scottsdale who - along with Tadiotto - returned to the Illinois program in 2020-21 following the COVID-19-shortened 2019-20 season. Tadiotto, Dumont de Chassart and Ji all earn their second-career all-region nods. This marks the 13th consecutive season that the Illini have placed at least two golfers on the all-region list.

Feagles, who also earned an unprecedented fifth first-team All-Big Ten accolade earlier this month, becomes the first five-time all-region selection in the program's history. The Big Ten's 2021 Les Bolstad Award winner as the conference leader in stroke average, Feagles opened the year in impressive fashion by posting a career-low score of 200 (-16) to earn his second-career win at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, and was named to the Haskins Award Watch List in March. He notched top-five finishes in six of nine events, including his tie for third at the NCAA Stillwater Regional, and had carded par or better in a team-leading 20 of 27 total rounds on the year entering the NCAA Championship.

Dumont de Chassart, the 2021 Big Ten Co-Player of the Year, also earned an all-region recognition as a freshman in 2019. He is coming off of a second-place individual finish to help lead the Illini to their sixth consecutive Big Ten Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club, followed by a tie for third at the NCAA Stillwater Regional. Dumont de Chassart ranks second on the team in stroke average with a 70.96, just behind Feagles' 70.78. He has matched Feagles for the team lead as the Illini's top finisher at four events this season and has tallied top-10 finishes in seven of nine events, including a four top-5s.

Ji garners all-region accolades for the second time in his career after also earning a spot on the list as a freshman last season. He ranks third on the team with a stroke average of 71.29. Ji led the Illini to a 38-stroke a victory at the Louisiana Classics in March, securing his first collegiate victory with a career-low 54-hole total of 203 (-13). Ji has tallied five top-10 finishes on the season, including a tie for eighth at the NCAA Stillwater Regional. His 19 rounds of par or better rank second on the team behind Feagles.

Tadiotto closes out his five-year run with the Orange & Blue with his second all-region selection after also earning a selection as a junior in 2019. Tadiotto posted one of his best performances of the season with a team-best score of 71 in the final round of the Big Ten Championship to serve as the catalyst for the team's come-from-behind, one-stroke victory. He ranks fourth on the team with a 72.44 stroke average, and finished as the Illini's top performer at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational where he tied for eighth to capture one of three top-10 finishes for the year.
