Four more COVID-19 infections found in JeffCo - Port Townsend Leader

Four new local cases of COVID-19 were reported by Jefferson County health officials Thursday.

The total number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the county hit 411 Thursday, up from the 407 reported Wednesday, May 12.

Three males tested positive for COVID-19 since Wednesday, and one female.

The cases were spread across a wide spectrum of ages, with one resident under the age 20; one in their 20s; one in their 50s; and another in their 60s.

All four of the infections were found in mid-county residents, according to Jefferson County Public Health. 

A total of 27 county residents have been hospitalized due to the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

A total of 16 residents are still awaiting test results, and 13 people are in isolation due to potential contact with people with COVID-19.

County health officials said 23,423 local tests for coronavirus have been reported since the start of the pandemic. A total of 22,996 have come back negative.

According to Jefferson County Public Health, 373 residents have recovered from the coronavirus.

People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.
