Birmingham-Southern (35-7) will lead off Sunday’s schedule with a noon ET matchup against defending national champion Texas Lutheran (34-4), while top seed and NFCA top-ranked DePauw (40-4) will face Virginia Wesleyan (43-5-1) at 2:30. Birmingham-Southern and DePauw both need to win to force a rematch with their respective opponents later in the day.

The remaining two teams after Sunday will face off in the best-of-three NCAA Division III Championship Series starting on Monday.

DePauw 3, St. Thomas 2

Kelsey Bernhard hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh after the Tommies had taken control on Coryn Jacobson’s triple in the fifth, to oust the former two-time champs, who are moving to Division I next year.

Birmingham-Southern 2, Wisconsin-Oshkosh 1

Morgan McGuire singled home Kailey Walters in the top of the fourth, and the Panthers rebounded from their first loss, and knocked out the Titans.

Virginia Wesleyan 12, Birmingham-Southern 1

The Marlins scored 12 unanswered runs to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and NFCA All-Americans Hanna Hull and Emily Seale limited the Panthers to just three hits.

Texas Lutheran 7, DePauw 4

Sarah Metzer hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to reclaim the lead, and the Bulldogs added another run in the seventh to deal the Tigers their first loss of the finals.

St. Thomas 2, Rochester 1

In the completion of Friday’s suspended game, Megan Baniecke homered in the bottom of the sixth and Kierstin Anderson-Glass struck out 11 batters, to propel the Tommies forward and eliminate the Yellow Jackets.
