UNC track teams win four subsection titles - Park Rapids Enterprise

The United North Central track and field teams won four events at the Subsection 6-22A meet at Wadena on Thursday, June 3.

Gabby Hrdlicka won the 300-meter hurdles in 49.11 and was the runner-up in the 100 hurdles in 16.45 while Jenna Seibert was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 95 feet, 7 inches as the UNC girls finished sixth with 32 points.

Also placing for the UNC girls were Seibert (fifth at 29 feet, 5 inches) and Harmony Livingston (sixth at 28-10.50) in the shot put and Janie Tormanen in the 400 (sixth in 1:05.68). The 4 x 800 relay team of Rachael Smith, Kylynn Warmbold, Hope Shepersky and Mattea Smith placed fifth in 11:21.49.

For the UNC boys, Christian Johnson, Casey Blixt, Connor Korvela and Rashad Lincoln won the 4 x 100 relay in 46.42 while Tyler Shepersky won the 1,600 wheelchair race in 7:16.73 and the 3,200 wheelchair race in 13:32.63 as the Warriors placed fifth with 65 points.

Lincoln was the runner-up in the 100 in 11.83 and Korvela took second in the long jump at 19-6.50. Also scoring points for the UNC boys were Johnson in the 400 (fourth in 55.81) and Korvela in the 1,600 (fourth in 5:03.07),

Perham won the girls title with 153 points while Ottertail Central (122), Wadena-Deer Creek (111), Breckenridge (54) and New York Mills (36) followed. In the boys meet, Perham took first with 146 points with Parkers Prairie (89), Ottertail Central (81) and W-DC (69) following in the nine-team field.

Fergus Falls will host the Section 6A meet on Thursday, June 10.
