TOKYO—Two Americans and two British nationals contracted to work for the Tokyo Olympics have been arrested on suspicion of violating drug laws by using cocaine, the police and organizers of the Games said.

The men work for Aggreko Events Services Japan Ltd., which provides electrical-power services for the Olympics, Tokyo 2020 said.

“Should the allegations turn out to be true, Tokyo 2020 will issue a strict warning to the company and advise them to take all possible measures to ensure that such an incident does not happen again,” the Games organizers said.

Aggreko Event Services Japan confirmed the arrests and said the four men have been suspended from their posts.

“Aggreko sincerely apologizes for the concern this has caused the public, the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the athletes and the many thousands of people dedicated to the safe and successful running of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” it said.

The men were arrested earlier this month, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police said in a statement. The Tokyo Olympics open on July 23.
