Primavera Sound festival postpones U.S. debut again, Los Angeles event now set for 2022 - LA Daily News

After postponing its U.S. debut last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, eclectic music festival Primavera Sound has rescheduled its Los Angeles show again.

According to an announcement posted on the festival’s website, Tuesday, June 29, the two-day event will be expanded to three days and take place Sept. 16-18, 2022, at the L.A. State Historic State Park.

“Despite the fact that the festival’s first encounter with its fans in the United States will have to wait yet another year, this announcement makes us even more excited and eager than ever to make our debut in America,” reads a statement on the festival’s website.

According to the site, ticket holders can keep their passes and use them for the rescheduled dates or request a refund via their Front Gate Tickets account by 9:30 a.m. July 29.

First scheduled to be held at the State Historic Park Sept. 19-20, 2020, the festival was canceled in May of last year with new dates planned for Sept. 2021.

No specific reason was given on the website for the recent cancellation.

The festival has been taking place annually in Barcelona since 2001 and through the years has attracted artists including The White Stripes, Tame Impala and Lou Reed.

According to the festival website, the Barcelona version of the festival is also being moved to 2022.
