For Florida governor Ron DeSantis, keeping his state’s tourist trade thriving and its economy humming is far more important than the loss of a few lives or even the health of Florida’s children. Selfish and self-obsessed people like ambition-driven DeSantis simply do not care how much pain and suffering their actions might cause others, just so long as they experience no pain or suffering themselves.

The current Republican party attempted to overthrow the United States government and kill our democracy. How are they different from the communists they condemn? They share the same goal.

COVID-19 cases are spiking throughout the country. Mississippi has six — SIX — ICU beds available statewide, Arkansas has 25. 97% of those hospitalized with Covid-19 have NOT been vaccinated. Florida has an infection rate as high as it has ever been. The Delta variant is 4 times more contagious than the original strain. It is not rocket science, please get vaccinated!

As we all know, there still is no vaccine for children under 12. We know, however, that Pfizer and other drug companies are working aggressively to produce the drug. We also know that schools are opening and many of our elementary teachers will be at risk with 25 to 30 unvaccinated kids in their classrooms. Even with the shots, there is still the possibility of a positive Covid test with symptoms. We know that interruptions in instruction are going to happen at all levels. I suggested some time ago that schools should leave their virtual  instruction procedures in place and ready to go just in case. Additionally, virtual instruction could be a panacea for youngsters who have been removed for disciplinary reasons or have dropped out. Here is the shocking news: 1.2 million students drop out each year. That is one student every 26 seconds, or 7,000 per day! Covid and the drop out rate are the enemies of literacy. Alternatives should be available!

Some of those who claim to be Patriots say they would be willing to lay down their lives for their country. Yet they won’t even roll up their sleeves to take a jab that would save the lives of countless fellow Americans. Seems hypocritical to me.

Your husband got Covid after getting the shot. Did he die? Let’s go to St Jude’s Hospital, poll the parents and see how many would refuse a shot to prevent cancer.

I have a question for school boards and educators. What will your policies and instructional strategies be when the topic of Donald Trump is brought up in the classroom? We allowed the truth about Richard Nixon. Will we allow the same about Trump?

Republicans work on better health, jobs, economy and a better America! Democrats work on tax returns of ex-presidents? Real productive? More like vindictive! Hate and revenge drive the Democratic Party.

When you support a politician who lies constantly and has little or no moral values, you should expect consequences. Grandma always said “what goes around comes around”.

A judge sanctioned two lawyers who brought a lawsuit alleging the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Trump and his supporters, calling their their case “one enormous conspiracy theory.” Gary Fielder and Ernest John Walker have been ordered to pay the legal fees of the people and entities they sued, including Facebook and Dominion Voting Systems. The judge accused them of pushing allegations that were extraordinarily serious and, when believed, led to the violent insurrection.

Why impeach Cuomo? He does less damage to America than Biden, Pelosi or Schumer. If we are going to impeach someone, let’s get one of the bad guys!

The 55 huge corporations and the super-rich that you speak of are not doing anything illegal. Your understandable anger should be pointed at both the Democratic and Republican parties. They are the ones that passed the laws that make up in book 1 the 1,404 pages, and in book 2 the 1,248 pages for a total of a whooping 2,652 pages of the U.S. tax code. This did not happen over night this took decades of plotting and planning and passing these laws in the dead of night to make up these codes. So you see, all are guilty!

Isn’t it odd that Republican supporters always say they back the blue? Except when the police they supposedly support are attacked by Trump insurgents storming the Congress.
