Four people were injured when a vehicle crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle Thursday afternoon in rural Ellsworth County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at just before 2:30 p.m., a 2014 Chevy Equinox driven by 71-year-old Judy Fuller of Ellsworth was westbound on K-140 about 8 miles east of Ellsworth when, for unspecified reasons, it crossed the center line and struck a 2009 Ford Escape driven by 78-year-old Lyle Dunning of Plainville.

Both drivers were transported to Salina Regional Health Center with what were believed to be serious injuries. KHP also reported passengers in both vehicles, 82-year-old Alvin Fuller of Ellsworth in the Equinox, and 78-year-old Nancy Dunning of Plainville in the Escape, were also injured in the crash. Both were also transported to Salina Regional Health center with what KHP believed were serious injuries.

All four occupants of the vehicles were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
