The secretary of defense under Donald Trump for two years, a multi-platinum singer-songwriter, and the host of one of the major Sunday-morning talk shows are among the guest lecturers slated to appear at Society of the Four Arts’ esteemed O’Keeffe Speaker Series in 2022. General James Mattis, Josh Groban and Chris Wallace are just three of the 13 bookings recently announced for January through March, high season at the Palm Beach cultural institution.

The Four Arts historically has brought A-list figures from media, civic life, the arts and entertainment for this series, but next year’s slate looks especially star-studded. It also includes Florida chronicler and novelist Carl Hiaasen, champion of political moderation P.J. O’Rourke, influential activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali and astronaut Kathy Sullivan.

The return of this popular series has been a long time coming. Owing to pandemic disruptions, when Sir Alex Younger takes to the podium on Jan. 4, it will mark the first O’Keeffe Speaker Series appearance in 22 months. All lectures are free for Four Arts Members and $50 for the general public, and they run 3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Four Arts’ Gubelmann Auditorium, 100 Four Arts Plaza. Here’s what we have to look forward to.

Jan. 4: Sir Alex Younger, former Chief of Britain’s MI6, “Cybersecurity Assessing Global Threats”

Jan. 11: Paul Tudor Jones, founder, co-chair and controlling principal of Tudor Investment Corporation, “Views on ‘22”

Jan. 18: P.J. O’Rourke, political satirist, “A Cry From the Far Middle”

Jan. 25: Sally Mann, prizewinning photographer, “Down the Rabbit Hole”

Feb. 1: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, defender of the rights of Muslim women, “On the Clash of Civilizations”

Feb. 8: Peter Zeihan, demographer and expert on geopolitics, “Living in the Lightning”

Feb. 15: Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” “A View From Washington”

Feb. 22: Josh Groban, Grammy, Tony and Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter and actor, “An Afternoon Conversation”

March 1: Kathy Sullivan, scientist, astronaut and executive, “Handprints on Hubble: An Astronaut’s Story of Invention”

March 8: General James Mattis, former U.S. Head of Central Command and secretary of defense, “Lessons in Servant Leadership and Leading By Example”

March 15: Peter Schweizer, conservative political consultant and author, “China and America’s Corrupt Political and Business Class”
