DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team will welcome four student-athletes for the 2022-23 season, head coach Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart announced on Wednesday.
Mila Brusch, Cecilia Cooley, Ava Mabanta and Kiley Rorich each signed their National Letter of Intent to attend DU beginning in the fall of 2022.
"We're delighted to welcome Kiley, Mila, CC and Ava to the DU Gymnastics family," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "All four of them embrace our philosophy of teamwork, character and excellence, and we're excited to see how they'll contribute to our team academically and athletically as members of the DU and Denver communities. The standards are set high for them, and we're excited to see them to meet and exceed those standards."
Mila Brusch is a Level 10 gymnast from Cincinnati Gymnastics and is a two-time JO Nationals qualifier, placing third on vault and fourth on floor in 2019. She has won the Ohio state all-around and vault titles twice, adding a win on floor in 2019. In both 2019 and 2020, she posted a career-best 9.900 on vault – a top 15 score nationally in 2020. Her sister Aria is a junior on the Auburn University gymnastics team.
"Mila is a confident, powerful athlete with a high level of difficulty," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She's an experienced, competitive athlete who thrives under pressure. She brings dynamic gymnastics that the crowd will love on all four events."

Cecilia Cooley is a Level 10 gymnast from New York City's Gotham Gymnastics. In 2021, she placed second on bars, third on beam and fourth in the all-around at the New York State Championships while adding second-place finishes on bars and floor and a third-place finish in the all-around at the Region 6 Championships. She qualified for the 2021 USAG Level 10 Nationals but did not compete due to injury.
"CC is a critical thinker and is mature and thoughtful, and she is coming into her own as a gymnast and as a person," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She has increased her skill level tremendously in recent years, highlighted by her difficult releases on bars. I strongly believe she has a lot of exciting potential that we've yet to discover."

Ava Mabanta is a Level 10 gymnast currently training at Twin City Twisters in Minnesota. A two-time JO Nationals qualifier, she placed third on vault in 2019 and tied for sixth on floor in 2018 while tying for fourth on beam both years. Three times she won the Texas state beam title while adding the all-around title in 2018. In 2017 and 2019, she competed at the elite level internationally at the TopGym Competition in Belgium. She is the younger sister of current DU sophomore Isabel Mabanta.
"Ava is a clean and elegant gymnast with beautiful shapes and lines," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "Her artistry, movement and rhythm stand out, particularly on beam. She is an elite competitor with international experience, and she will bring grace and difficulty to our already strong lineups."

Kiley Rorich is a Level 10 gymnast from Southeastern Gymnastics in North Carolina. In 2020, she won the all-around title at the prestigious Nastia Liukin Cup, and she has qualified for JO Nationals/USAG Level 10 Nationals three times. Most recently, she tied for fourth on bars and placed fifth in the all-around and sixth on floor at 2021 Nationals. In each of the last three Region 8 Championships to be held, she placed in the top three in the all-around including wins in 2018 and 2019.
"Kiley is resilient, persistent and determined," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She knows how to work through adversity and challenges. On multiple occasions, she has exceeded expectations at the highest level, winning the Nastia Cup and being a top finisher at Level 10 Nationals this year. She is an even-keeled, consistent, steady competitor, and fans will appreciate her beauty and grace, especially on bars."
