Four catalytic converters were stolen from cars around Montclair during the past week, police said.
On Wednesday, Nov. 24, a man reported that the catalytic converter was removed from his 2008 Toyota Prius on Gates Avenue. The vehicle was parked between the hours of 9:45 a.m. and 2 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 26, a woman reported the converter was stolen from her 2011 Toyota Prius on Hawthorne Place. The theft occurred at some point between 11 p.m. and 10 a.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 27, a woman reported that on Nov. 24, the catalytic converter was stolen from her 2005 Toyota Prius while parked at the Charles H. Bullock School on Washington Street. She reported that the theft occurred during school hours.
On Monday, Nov. 29, a woman reported that the converter was stolen from her 2010 Toyota Prius while parked at the Bay Street Parking Deck on Pine Street.

THEFTS
Tuesday, Nov. 23 — A woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her bag while she was at the Human Needs Food Pantry on Label Street. The wallet contained approximately $1,000 in Trinidad and Tobago dollars.
Wednesday, Nov. 24 — A man stated that his company’s truck was parked on Walnut Crescent while he was doing landscape work at Mountainside Hospital. When he returned, he discovered three bags belonging to his workers were removed. A total of $200 in cash and a tablet computer were reportedly in the bags.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS
Tuesday, Nov. 23 — Residents reported that when they woke up, they discovered two cars had been stolen from their driveway on Mount Vernon Road. A 2021 Black Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2021 Black Ford Explorer were stolen during the overnight hours. An owner was unable to account for his key fobs. The Cherokee was recovered the next day in East Orange. A juvenile male from Newark and a juvenile female from Jersey City were found to be in possession of the vehicle.
BURGLARY
Monday, Nov. 29 — A woman reported that her vehicle was entered during the overnight hours on Grove Street. The vehicle appeared to have been rummaged through but nothing was reported missing.
VANDALISM
Tuesday, Nov. 23 — An employee at Montclair Kimberley Academy on Lloyd Road reported that when he arrived to work, he discovered several green paint markings across several of the windows on the southeast side of the school. There was no significant damage reported and the markings were easily cleaned off.
ASSAULT
Thursday, Nov. 25 — A man reported that he was inside of a building on Bloomfield Avenue drinking alcohol when he was held down by one male and physically assaulted by three others. There was no description of the individuals involved. The man suffered facial injuries and was transported to University Hospital by the Montclair Ambulance Unit.
