Volleyball Drops Match To Villanova In Four Sets - Providence College Athletics

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Providence College volleyball fell to Villanova in four sets, 1-3, during BIG EAST regular-season play on Nov. 12 in Villanova, Pa.
 
1st SET:
• The Friars and Demons were back-and-forth in the first set, with eight lead changes and 12 tied scores. Providence took the set, 25-23.
• Shaliyah Rhoden tallied a team-high six kills on 16 attempts (.250).
• Allison Barber tallied nine assists and seven digs for the Friars, both team-highs.
 
2nd SET:
• Villanova took the second set, 25-21.
• Rhoden and Jennifer Leitman each tallied three kills in the second set.
Allison Barber recorded seven assists for the Friars.
 
3rd SET:
• The Wildcats defeated the Friars 25-16 in set three.
• Leitman put up a team-high six kills.
• Barber tallied all nine assists for the Friars.
Mackenzie Taylor recorded a team-high five digs.
 
4th SET:
• Villanova led for the entirety of the fourth set, with the exception of one tied score, finishing out at 25-16.
• Barber tallied a team-high four digs for the Friars.

NOTES / HIGHLIGHTS:
• Leitman led the Friars with 14 kills in the match.
• Allison Barber recorded team-highs in both assists (26) and digs (15).
• Providence tallied four total team blocks.

WHAT'S NEXT:
• Providence will face-off against Georgetown tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 13 . The match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET in Washington, D.C.
