It's Super Bowl Sunday in the NFL, but before things get kicked off at SoFi Stadium between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, there's the matter of everyone trying to figure out where Aaron Rodgers will suit up in 2022. Having now accepted his fourth NFL MVP award, and promising a decision soon, Rodgers remained in Green Bay for a spell following the disappointing playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers to discuss the team's plan for the future -- presumably to determine if it's worth sticking around for.
It appears one of the talking points was his reworked contract, which could be changing for the second consecutive season, after the Packers restructured it in 2021 to appease him. With Green Bay now reportedly prepared to go all-in to keep Rodgers in a Packers uniform, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, a new deal might be on the table soon (if it isn't already) for the 38-year-old quarterback.

It's one that might mirror what the New Orleans Saints awarded Drew Brees to squeeze a bit more time out of the future Hall of Famer, on a contract that lined his pockets while adding voidable years to help spread the cap hit in favor of the team.
Things have been leaning toward Rodgers remaining married to the Packers, evidenced by Pro Bowl running back Aaron Jones recently stating his belief things will remain as-is going forward. That said, things wouldn't exactly be the same from a roster standpoint, considering their current roster is filled with soon-to-be free agents -- headlined by All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams -- and some aging veterans. It'll be interesting to see how the Packers reload (assuming they can retain Rodgers) for 2022, with a potentially drastic roster turnover looming, and after having failed to take advantage of earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC two years in a row.
They'll worry about that later, though, or rather the minute after they get a final decision from Rodgers -- wholly focused on that at the moment.
