Utah State freshman Brie Clark earned her fourth-straight MRGC Floor Specialist of the Week honor after scoring a 9.925 to place first on the event and help the 20th-ranked Aggies finish with a season-high 196.450 against the 18th-ranked Cougars at the Smith Fieldhouse in Provo.
Utah State's 196.450 is the second-highest road score in series history against BYU. It is also just the third time the Aggies (5-3, 2-1 MRGC) have eclipsed the 196-plateau in Provo. Furthermore, it is the 10th-best score in school history, including the sixth-best score on the road.
Utah State senior Carley Bayles earned her first-ever MRGC weekly award as she scored a 9.925 on beam, which is tied for eighth all-time in school history, to capture co-MRGC Beam Specialists of the Week honors with the Cougars' Elease Rollins.
Bayles helped the Aggies notch a 49.275 on beam, which is tied for the sixth-highest score in program history on the event, against BYU.
Utah State junior Rebecca Wells and sophomore Brianna Brooks shared MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week honors as the duo finished first on vault with matching career-high 9.875s. For Brooks, this is her second MRGC weekly award of the season and of her career, while Wells has been honored three times, including twice this year.
Behind the performances of Brooks and Wells, Utah State scored a season-high 49.100 on beam, which is tied for 10th all-time in school history.
Utah State is back at home this week when the Aggies welcome No. 24 Southern Utah (2-4, 1-3 MRGC) and Ball State (4-5-1, 0-2-0 MAC) to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum for a tri meet on Friday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.
