The Mercury’s Sound Off for Friday, March 11 - The Mercury

The day after Nancy Pelosi announced her desire to ban oil and gas imports from Russia, local representative Chrissy Houlahan, stated her desire to ban the Russian imports also. This is typical for Houlahan. Chrissy never makes a move without prior approval from Pelosi. I wish Houlahan would support the citizens of the PA 6th District as strongly and as consistently as she supports Nancy Pelosi.

Robert Minninger

Unfortunately, Biden listened to the progressives in the Democratic party and did things like canceling the KPL which decreased the world supply of oil. In 2021 the U.S. increased its import of crude oil from Russia to 245 million barrels or a one-year increase of 24% according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The income for Russia was an additional resource for the carnage in Ukraine. Biden should stop importing oil from Russia.

Tom

Joe Biden now has the well thought out strategy of buying oil from Iran and Venezuela. Instead of having American Oil or Canadian Oil providing oil to the USA, Joe Biden wants to buy it from dictators in Iran and Venezuela. What could possibly go wrong?

For Patriot54 and Lefty and Jay Miller, NY Times has just pronounced the Manhattan DA’s investigation of Donald Trump dead. So another of the ridiculous claims against President Trump is done with. But never fear, hope springs eternal for the Democrats, Adam Schiff has more evidence — LOL.

Sam Tasik

Comrade Lefty put your happy pipe down. The question is, why did Biden stop the oil pipeline and cause Americans to lose their jobs. Biden wants us to buy electric cars which helps China, which manufacturers batteries, chips, and other parts we get from them. Was it part of a deal with Hunter Biden that we buy our gas from Russia? Now they’re using that money to support their war in Ukraine. Tell me, what’s the answer?

People who are still defending their Biden vote clearly prefer inflation, high gas prices, empty shelves, botched military withdrawals and a potential world war.

David M. has a good point. We should all let people know where we have come from and where we are coming from today. So I will start it off. I registered as a Democrat many years ago. I remain a faithful Democrat. So now you know I have a lot of credibility when I criticize Joe Biden and the rest of the loons in the Democrat party. Probably the sorriest bunch of Democrats ever to have the capital D after their names.

Rob Andrews

We are seeing real solid reporting about the Ukraine-Russian conflict from MSNBC and CNN. Fake fox news has been a disaster. They just don’t take it seriously. The three simpletons in the morning are a joke. Tucker, Sean and Laura spend their time interviewing right-wing generals that don’t have a clue. Now you know why conservatives are dumb! Read a book once in a while!

Lefty

For the 4 years prior to Biden’s election, aside from the obliteration of ISIS, peace was breaking out around the world. Afghanistan was relatively quiet, North Korea was quiet, and Russia did not invade Ukraine. Now Biden, according to SOS Blinken, has given the green light to NATO to provide fighter planes to Ukraine in a big escalation of the war in Ukraine, while we import Russian oil. Biden’s blunders have created this mess.

Michael Stern

Everyone who comments to Sound Off who voted for Biden and helped him win must be very proud now. Biden bought gas from Russia. They’re using that money to attack Ukraine, destroying cities and killing people who only want to live in peace, not under a dictator like Putin. What’s happening to them can happen to us. Next time vote wisely.

Democratic-run cities have higher crime! Before you “sound off,” consider 62% of the 100 largest US cities are run by Democrats vs 26% Republicans or Independents. (Ballotpedia) Those are the largest population centers and the majority of Americans live in them. So, picking out 10 of them and blaming Democrats is ridiculous when they run the majority of the top 100. (Couldn’t be lax gun laws and ghost guns contributing to it?!)

KC

So some group from California says Pennsylvania’s marijuana laws earn a “C” grade. And The Mercury puts it on the front page. California is one messed up place. It has earned an “F” on its ability to manage its own affairs. Before anyone from California starts “grading” Pennsylvania they should go back there and put their own house in order. Maybe clean up San Francisco or Los Angeles for starters.

Now that mask mandates are being dropped almost everywhere, what are the mask whiners going to complain about? They have to have something to screech about. Maybe they could say something about people still wearing masks because they want to. They can’t do anything about those people, so it’s just a suggestion.

M Furlong, you talk about the Brandywine and Jennersville hospitals. I sent Sen. Toomey a letter asking about them. He said he’s working on it. We’ll see how much he works on it to save them.

Jay Miller

I see that sleepy Joe is in the oil business now, “Biden keeps importing Russian oil”. Russian petroleum accounts for about 10% of imports and the biggest importers of Russian petroleum are Valero, Exxon, Chevron and Marathon. Maybe you should consider kicking those companies around for unpatriotic business activities. As for being “energy independent”, the U.S. was a net energy exporter in 2020 and 2021, the first time since 1949. Source, eia.gov. Love that research.

David M.

With the midterms quickly approaching, the Democrats would have preferred to announce another new Covid variant that justifies their plans to again weaken election integrity. But knowing that Americans won’t stand for another politically motivated pandemic farce, Dems are quickly doing an about-face saying the pandemic is over and Joe Biden is responsible for saving us all. How quickly the Covid science changes according to which way the Democrats’ political wind is blowing.

Little Joe

Thank you, Patriot45 for reminding us of all the “ruthless dictators” who are expanding their “reign of terror” while the US is led by our weak puppet president. Particularly, we thank you for alerting us to evil Swaziland, that tiny, little-known, Southern African kingpin of world despots. They act in the shadows, which is probably why they changed their name to Eswatini in 2018. Keep up the good work, Patriot45.

The Republican Party has been damaged by Donald Trump. The Grand Old Party has been destroyed because of Trump and his lies. Fact, not Fiction

Please stop trying to censor the education of our children. Sometimes facts are uncomfortable. It is your job as adults to help them understand. If you don’t understand what happened, learn! Knowledge is power, without it you are sheep listening to TV pundits, radio hosts, and random posters on social media; your sources are in it only for their own hubris.

Missy Miss, where do you get off saying Biden voters have blood on their hands? You should be ashamed of yourself that is a racial insult you should be banned from Sound Off and the USA. Go back to Russia where you belong if you will not support the president.

Will someone tell Con Don to view any TV channel except Fox News and say Putin is a genius! With your CPAC message what is a vast vast location (your own words ), how did he graduate from the University of Pennsylvania? As an added note please send donations!

I know Covid has been getting a bad rap lately but you have to admit it was pretty considerate to go away right before the president’s state of the union address.

If a prisoner wrote a book about why he shouldn’t be in jail, would it be called an alibiography?
