It happened again. A cluster of local television reporters, each from a different station, announced they were leaving.
Last month we had told you about four departures in five days. This time around it's four more — in less than a week.
This round started with Matt Hunter's announcement. He shared he's leaving Spectrum News Albany after more than a decade with the 24-hour news station. Later that same day, sports anchor-reporter Gardner Royce said good-bye to CBS6 shortly after his final broadcast. Like Hunter, Royce didn't share publicly what was next, but did say he was leaving the industry.
Rounding out the group were Darrell Camp, who signed off of WMHT after a year with the public access station; and WNYT's Emily De Vito. De Vito, who reported and anchored at the NBC affiliate, is headed to CDTA. (Each person's individual departure story is linked to in their name above.)
Their announcements comprise 15 on-air departures in local broadcast TV news so far this year. You can read more about the others who have left here.
