At about 3:00 PM, on Thursday, April 21, 2022, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, conducted an investigation in the area of 427 Cummins Highway in Roslindale (Oak Lawn Cemetery), which led to several on-site arrests for firearm related offenses. Officers received information that several males were in possession of illegal firearms and congregating in the cemetery.
Officers entered the Oak Lawn Cemetery and located the group of individuals. After further investigation officers recovered four loaded firearms; Firearm #1 was a Glock 48 9mm handgun loaded with thirteen rounds of ammunition in the magazine. Firearm #2 was a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun loaded with fifteen rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber. Firearm #3 was loaded with fourteen rounds of ammunition in the magazine. Firearm #4 was a Glock 17 9mm handgun with eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine.
The following suspects were placed under arrest; Demetrey Pate, 18, of Roxbury and Davon Suarez, 18, of Jamaica Plain were arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number.
D’Khari Wornum-Brown, 18, of Dorchester and 17-year-old juvenile male, of Brighton were arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. All four suspects are expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
