suaralifestyle.blogspot.com
AUBURN, Ala. – Four University of Memphis track and field athletes finished the weekend's War Eagle Invitational with a title, bringing the team's top-10 performance total for the meet to 27.

The meet finished Saturday evening at the Hutsell-Rosen Track after two full days of competition.

Tate Wyatt was the first Tiger to earn a title, crossing the line first in the men's 3000m steeplechase. His 9:01.33 finish marks a collegiate-best time for the junior. Also earning a gold and collegiate-best time Friday was Chloe Figgins in the women's 5000m invitational with a time of 16:57.32.

Saturday saw the Tigers winning two more golds with DeeNia McMiller's first-place shot put performance (16.32m) and Cole Riddle's top pole vault clearance of 5.44m.

Mona Jaidi earned three top-five finishes for her throws in the women's shot put, discus and hammer. She is currently ranked in the top-five in the American Athletic Conference for all three events; she also continues to hold the top conference ranking for javelin.

Iason Machairas improved his seasonal-best for the men's shot put with his third-place throw, which still places him first in the conference for the event.

The Tigers are scheduled for just one more traveling weekend before the conference championship in May. Next weekend, the team will head back to Alabama for the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa.
