Baseball Lands Four on D3baseball.com All-Region Teams - Ithaca College Athletics

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College baseball program had four of its players named to one of three All-Region 3 teams by D3baseball.com on May 31. Ithaca finished its 2022 season with a 34-14 record and a trip to the NCAA Division III Super Regional, which the Bombers hosted.

Buzz Shirley was named to the first-team as a first baseman, while Louis Fabbo was a second-team honoree as an outfield. Connor Pedersen and Kyle Lambert found a spot on the third-team at shortstop and starting pitcher.

Shirley set a new single season school record this year with 23 doubles, to go along with a .417 batting average and 54 RBI. Shirley played in 44 games and collected 65 hits with 48 runs scored, six home runs, 23 walks and 21 hit by pitches. At first base, he committed just three errors in 317 total chances.

Fabbo put together a solid sophomore season with a .364 average on 59 hits, 14 doubles and five home runs. Fabbo led IC with 57 runs scored and 31 walks and reached base 17 time on hit by pitches in 45 games played.

Pedersen also set a single season record in his first year with the club as he surpassed the most hits in a year with 78. Pedersen hit .377 on the season and played in all 48 games as he drove in 38 runs, scored 35 more and had 19 doubles.

Lambert rewrote the single season strikeouts record for IC as he finished the season with 96. Lambert went 6-3 in 96.0 innings pitched and owned a 3.09 ERA, as he held opponents to a .219 average. He set the school record during Ithaca's 4-0 Super Regional win over Catholic on May 28.
