Indiana will never but a question on the ballot in regards to abortion. Nor will they ever put a question about large capacity magazines or armor piercing ammunition. In case you haven’t noticed, as long as Republicans dominate our legislature, they couldn’t care less about what we want. In their minds, once elected, they get to decide and our opinions are irrelevant.

I don’t know about you, but my $200 Indiana rebate check will be split between Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
Republicans have successfully blocked a $35 cap on insulin from the Inflation Reduction Act bill. They stopped Democrats for the third time. Isn’t it time to start voting Republicans out for doing nothing to help us?

Here is irrefutable evidence that Republican congressmen are no longer interested in voting the wishes of their constituents. The congressmen are totally focused on blocking popular Democratic legislation. Various reliable polls clearly show the Inflation Reduction Act which includes help with lowering prescription costs is extremely popular. 95% of Democrats, 73% of Independents and 52% of Republican voters support the legislation. There is very little variation in polls. All Republican congressmen just voted ‘no’ on proceeding with the legislation. Democrats can pass the legislation on their own. By the way, all of the neutral certifying groups have said the bill will not create budget or inflationary problems. This is another example of how Republicans just don’t care about good legislation anymore. It is all about power and control. Additionally, they will continue to display animus towards a Democratic party that has endorsed diversity in our great melting pot. Republicans are fighting a losing battle. Most in our country enjoy and appreciate the merits of our ethnic rainbow.
Why do Democrats whine about Republicans not supporting bills that they try and advance in the Senate when they pack them with “pork” that financially benefits themselves and their buddies? Everyone needs to quit spending my tax dollars on (useless things)!
No, the “totally useless” people are those who won’t get an education or job. Take no pride in themselves, where they live or in their families. And if you don’t think banning assault weapons will save lives, then you have been living under a rock doing drugs. Trying to stop overdoses is hard; society is messed up. But that doesn’t mean you should stop caring. Democrats are for the people. Real leadership is saving our democracy.
Deaths from assault weapons dropped after the assault weapon ban in 1994 and nearly tripled after the ban was allowed to expire in 2004. So fellow Quickly writer, yes Democrats are not only claiming that it would save lives, we have the receipts.
What happened to the Republican Party that I seldom agreed with but respected for their intelligence and moral compass? Where are the likes of Margaret Chase Smith, Clare Booth Luce, Francis Payne Bolton, Everett Dirksen, Howard Baker, Jacob Javits, John McCain and Richard Lugar. All I see now are grifters and con-men like Trump and Alex Jones, hypocrites like McConnell and Gaetz and morons like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert. The newest idiot to try to get into the GOP Clown Car is Lavern Spicer, the GOP candidate for Florida’s 24th congressional district. She maintains that “there are no pronouns in the Constitution.” You know, the one that starts out “WE THE PEOPLE…” And I thought Sarah Palin was dumb!
