Only a lazy Republican would see it as a good thing that the entire Congress is being held hostage and can’t do a single thing to help the American people.

The Department of Justice has now made more than 900 arrests in the case of the January 6th riot, with “more to come.” But two years later, there has yet to be a single arrest of any of the Republicans who were ringleaders, plotted to submit fake electors, pressured election officials to alter results, and have continued to this day to dismiss the whole affair as “just politics,” while ignoring subpoenas and pleading the Fifth when questioned. Oddly, these disciples of he who declared himself to have “the world’s greatest memory,” cannot themselves seem to recall anything at all.
I was talking to George Santos the other day and he told me that Congress had never had this kind of chaos when he was Speaker of the House.

Sure would like to read more on the local High School basketball teams. Hasn’t been much in either of our local papers. There’s too much on professional sports. These teens work hard in sports, they deserve some “notoriety”! It’s fun to read about your teammates!
As we sit back and watch the chaos going on with the Republicans’ efforts to name a Speaker, we should keep in mind we the people sent these individuals to Congress! They didn’t send themselves. We must look in the mirror and accept the fact that we are aiding and abetting in this fiasco. The real tragedy is there is a good chance we will vote them in again when their terms are up. Why? We are stuck on party over character and competence. We have been called one-issue voters. It may be the abortion issue, or the border, or spending, or crime. The candidate could be as crazy as a soup sandwich. Yet, we will vote this person into office because they serve our personal grievance. In a research study on the impact of beauty, competence and trustworthiness in choosing a candidate for office, beauty or looks won by 15 percentage points!
If Joe actually does go to the southern border (and I’ll believe it when I see it), his handlers will have to be extra careful that he doesn’t accidentally wander into Mexico after his photo-op. But then again, the Mexicans don’t want him either, so he will make history as the first President to be deported FROM Mexico. And Sleepy Joe will probably do a “Jim Acosta photo-op”. This means his set-up people will choose a spot on the border that is actually secure so that Joe can stand in front of it and say “See, my policies are working”.
That piece in the Post-Tribune on Thursday reporting that at least 500 American “workers” earn so much that they meet their entire Social Security obligation ($162,000) on the very first day of the new year should make every one of us demand bi-partisan overhaul of the Social Security system. One political party (guess which one) has been the loudest to complain about Social Security but at the same time has opposed any meaningful reform. Why? They want Social Security to fail. They’ve been trying to get rid of this so-called “entitlement” for decades.
There are an estimated 500 workers who already have reached the $160,000 cap on Social Security contributions for the year. Removing this cap would help Social Security remain solvent for another 35 years. Rather than fighting amongst each other we should demand our representatives take immediate action to resolve funding for the trust fund. Nobody cares about Hunter Biden’s laptop, how ever everyone should care if our Social Security benefits are cut by 27% in 10 years.
