Rocket sirens were sounded in a southern Israeli kibbutz near the border with Gaza on Saturday after a rocket launched from Gaza landed in an open area, the army reported.
The Iron Dome defense system was not activated following the launch.
Last week, the Israeli army confirmed that a rocket launched overnight from Gaza landed in Israeli territory after it initially reported that it fell within the coastal enclave. The rocket was a response after six Palestinians were killed and 26 were wounded, three of them seriously, during a raid carried out by Israeli forces in Jenin, in an attempt to capture the terrorist who killed two Israelis in late February.
At the end of February, the Israeli military attacked targets in the Gaza Strip in response to six rockets that were fired from the Hamas-controlled enclave.
