Four Downs: For the Bills, resting starters should be a no-brainer - Buffalo Rumblings

suaralifestyle.blogspot.com

The Buffalo Bills are set to wrap up the 2020 regular season on Sunday, as the team hosts the Miami Dolphins in Orchard Park. get all of the latest leading up to the game in this week’s edition of Four Downs.

Resting starters is the way to go against Miami

Trust me when I say this—I would love to see the Bills keep the Dolphins out of the playoffs. When I think back to the rivalry between these two teams from years past, I look forward to seeing it rekindled in the future. With that being said, it doesn’t make much sense for the Bills to play their regulars on Sunday afternoon.

Cole Beasley was hobbled in Monday’s victory over the New England Patriots, and there is optimism that he will be back for the playoffs. While the Bills may have dodged a bullet with Beasley’s injury, it served as a cautionary reminder for me that the team’s health should be the top priority. If Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Tre’Davious White, Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano are all inactive on Sunday, you won’t hear any complaints from me.

No Fitz on Sunday

If you missed the news from Sunday, quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been ruled out by the Miami Dolphins for Sunday following a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Many Bills fans, myself included, have a soft spot for Fitzpatrick from his time in Buffalo—and wish him a healthy and speedy recovery. It will be interesting to see how rookie Tua Tagovailoa performs against the Bills, as he has been pulled in recent weeks in favor of Fitzpatrick.

Pod of the Week

One of my favorite listens this week was from Locked On Bills, as host Joe Marino reviewed Sunday’s game with Kyle Crabbs, the host of Locked on Dolphins. The two are admittedly great friends, and their rapport shines through in this episode. This is a great preview that discusses what’s at stake for both teams, and considered a must-listen for Bills fans.

Prediction: Dolphins 17, Bills 14

Despite resting many regulars, the Buffalo Bills will keep Sunday’s game close with the Dolphins. The Bills finish the season at 12-4, and still secure the number-two seed following a Pittsburgh Steelers loss to the Cleveland Browns.
