Four new COVID-19 cases reported in Jefferson County - Port Townsend Leader

Four new COVID-19 infections have been reported in Jefferson County since last Friday.

Two females, and two males, have tested positive for the coronavirus, Jefferson Public Health announced Tuesday.

Two of the infections were found in Port Townsend residents, while the other cases were split between mid-county and south county. 

One of the cases involved a person in their 20s, two were people in their 30s, and the fourth case was a person in their 60s.

The four new confirmed cases of the coronavirus have pushed the cumulative count of COVID-19 cases to 362.

COVID-19 test results were still pending Tuesday for 68 residents. Eight potential coronavirus contacts remained in isolation April 13.

According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 21,693 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 21,263 tests have come back negative.

Based on gender, 186 males have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County, and 176 females have tested positive.

A total of 26 residents have been hospitalized for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and two deaths have been linked to COVID-19.

County health officials reported that 343 people have recovered from COVID-19.

People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.
