The Bobby Hurley recruiting train has picked up steam.
On Friday, four-star point guard Milos Uzan announced he had narrowed his choice list of schools to eight, and Arizona State is still in the hunt.
Also joining the Sun Devils are Pac-12 rivals Cal and USC, Creighton, Oklahoma, Saint Mary’s, Utah, and UNLV round out the top eight.
Arizona State appears in good position as Uzan broke down the reasons behind his narrowed list with 247Sports. Unsurprisingly, it is the point guard connection between Hurley and Uzan that has allowed Arizona State to blossom in their pursuit of the 6-foot-4 guard from Las Vegas, Nevada.
“I like their playstyle,” he told 247Sports. “Bobby Hurley gives his guards freedom. Especially if he trusts in you as he did with Remy Martin. I feel that would be a cool system to play in. They are a Pac-12 school that puts up a lot of shots.”
Uzan is now the second top-tier point guard target for the Sun Devils after California four-star recruit Richard Isaacs Jr. included Arizona State in his top four schools. He is the top-ranked recruit in Nevada and 10th-ranked point guard, according to 247sports.
The Sun Devils currently do not hold a commitment in their 2022 recruiting class. None of the four true freshman the Sun Devils brought in for the 2021 class play point guard. All three point guards currently on the roster, Marreon Jackson, Luther Muhammad, and DJ Horne all transferred in and are upperclassmen.
After this season, the point guard competition could be wide open, and that might play a factor in Uzan’s decision. Check out some of his highlights below.
