HARTFORD 12, UALBANY 7
After UAlbany took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Hawks wasted little time in firing back. In the bottom half of the opening frame, Tenney secured a infield single before Tremayne Cobb Jr. singled into the outfield to put two runners on base. With two outs, Noah Rivera stepped up, launching a double down the left field line, plating both runners and giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead. Hartford would not stop there as Daniel Burnett hit a solo home run to lead off the second and River hit his own solo shot in the third to increase the lead to 4-2. UAlbany pulled one run back to get within one, 4-3, but Hartford exploded four four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Tenney kept the home run party going, launching his own solo home run to get the inning going. Cobb Jr. would follow it up with a double to right center before Jake Santiago was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. Rivera drew a walk of his own, allowing Joseph Woronick to hit an infield single, plating Cobb Jr. and extending the lead to 6-3. Daniel Burnett took full advantage of the situation in the next at-bat, singling back up the middle, bringing home two runs and giving the Hawks an 8-3 advantage. Both offenses would go quiet in the next two innings, as starting pitcher Tim Blaisdell worked out of a bases loaded jam in the fifth and Manny Corporan allowed no runs in the sixth to maintain Hartford's lead.
The Great Danes would fire back with two runs in the top of the seventh, btu Hartford quickly responded with two runs of their own. Tyler Holmes launched a no-doubt first pitch homerun to lead off the bottom of the seventh,m giving the Hawks a 9-5 edge. Brett Anderson would go on to draw a walk, before advancing to second on a Logan Cole sacrifice bunt, setting up Tenney. Tenney continued his strong day at the plate, doubling to left field, plating Anderson and reestablishing a five-run lead, 10-5. Ualbany would try and get back into the game in the eighth, scoring two runs, but Tenney came up clutch once again. The infielder slashed a two-RBI double in the bottom half of the eighth to give Hartford a 12-7 lead.
